About

I am of Ⲛⲓⲣⲉⲙⲛ̀ⲭⲏⲙⲓ (pronounced Ni-Rem-En-Kee-Mi). This means that I am of the people of the black soil (the land nourished by the Nile River, specifically, Egypt). However, I am fortunate to call Mi'kma'ki (Nova Scotia) home.  For those of you visiting my page of African Nova Scotian and/or Indigenous roots (locally or globally), a special welcome to you!

My research, clinical work, and educational experiences are rooted in working in community. I started and dedicated my career to supporting people with forced migration experiences. I have worked alongside people of all ages, cultures and backgrounds. As I continue my work, I am using this page to continue connecting with others. I hope to share resources, facilitate connections, and tell stories from my journey so far. It's all going to awhile, but you are welcome to explore what is shared at present and reach out in the meantime!
